The focus of this group is on stylized equines. The idea is that as amazing and wonderful as realism is, sometimes being able to just sit and browse art that is more stylized can be a fresh breath of air sometimes and that is exactly what this group is intended for. So take a step away from realism and find your own style in your art. We are all unique, let's show it!

Group Focus/Rules

The focus of this group is on stylized equines. The idea is that as amazing and wonderful as realism is, sometimes being able to just sit and browse art that is more stylized can be a fresh breath of air, and that is exactly what this group is intended for. So take a step away from realism and find your own style in your art. We are all unique, let's show it!

Essentially we are still in the set up stage of the group so rules are still minimal as we tweak things and grow. But keeping in the spirit of stepping away from realism here are some base rules:

:bulletred: We do not accept images that are not of equines
:bulletred: We do not accept Photographs or Photomanipulations
:bulletred: We do not accept realism pieces
:bulletred: We do not accept colored line arts (unless they are your own line arts)
:bulletred: We do not accept screenshots of equines made in generators or doll makers
:bulletred: We do not accept traced images or Matte Paintings
:bulletred: We do not accept WIPs, sketches, or otherwise unfinished pieces.

Equine Groups needing Moderators

Tue Oct 15, 2013, 5:46 PM
I am in need of Moderators for the following groups:

:iconunique-equines:

Moderating Unique-Equines is mostly submission approval/rejections.  From time to time we get affiliate requests as well which require approval/rejection votes.  As a Moderator you would have the option to invite art work to the group gallery though it is not necessary if you did not want to do this, we also collect news from the Equine community each month to feature in our article that comes out on the 1st of each month.

At this point in time we are looking for a News Anchor to add our team, this means you would be helping us gather and put together news from the Equine community on dA for our monthly blogs.  While we encourage general moderation of the group with this position it is not a requirement.

Ideal candidates will:
:bulletred: know our group rules (listed on our front page)
:bulletred: be able to write in English (for backroom discussions as well as potentially having to explain to a member why their piece was rejected)
:bulletred: be familiar with the group platform (this is not a must but it does help)
:bulletred: be a team player (you absolutely must be able to work well within a team setting as we tend to work together as a unit of moderators)
:bulletred: be active (I would prefer to bring people on who can vote at least once a day)
:bulletred: be comfortable telling someone why their piece was rejected (this is something that we can help with if you are unsure of the wording)
:bulletred: be comfortable with tie breaking votes as these do happen from time to time in this group
:bulletred: be comfortable giving input on situations/ideas
:bulletred: be able to link to any Equine related news on dA that you find while browsing

Interested individuals may either note me directly at Astralseed or you may note Unique-Equines.

:iconstylizedequines:

Moderating StylizedEquines is mostly submission approval/rejections.  Though at this point I am looking to add one or two admins who can help move the group forward.  The groups original intent was to help other Equine Artists find their own personal style of drawing and as such, I'd like for the group to run challenges and or post blogs that can help artists with that.

Ideal candidates will:
:bulletblack: know our group rules (listed on our front page)
:bulletblack: be able to write in English (for backroom discussions as well as potentially having to explain to a member why their piece was rejected)
:bulletblack: be familiar with the group platform (this is not a must but it does help)
:bulletblack: be a team player (you absolutely must be able to work well within a team setting as we tend to work together as a unit of moderators)
:bulletblack: be active (I would prefer to bring people on who can vote at least once a day)
:bulletblack: be comfortable telling someone why their piece was rejected (this is something that we can help with if you are unsure of the wording)
:bulletblack: be comfortable giving input on situations/ideas
:bulletblack: be able to write useful blogs/articles for the group and or help organize challenges.

If you feel that you'd be able to help with challenges or useful blogs/articles for the group and want to be a part of the admin team for StylizedEquines you can either note me directly at Astralseed or you may note the group.

:iconquirlicorns:

Moderating Quirlicorns is pretty laid back as it's still a new breed that is only very slowly getting off the ground.  While there isn't a whole lot to do at the moment I could still use some help with registries, breeding notes, and general promotion of the group.  We are looking at holding a show soon and could definitely use more hands on deck to set it up, and see it through.

Ideal candidates will:
:bulletwhite: enjoy the breed, whether you own one already or not
:bulletwhite: have a very basic understanding of html code (mainly to link things in the registries)
:bulletwhite: be able and willing to help promote events and the breed as a whole
:bulletwhite: know our group and breed rules (listed on our front page)
:bulletwhite: be able to write in English (for any discussion needed with our members as well as with other moderators)
:bulletwhite: be familiar with sta.sh writer (this is what we use for our journals which will need updating)
:bulletwhite: be a team player (you absolutely must be able to work well within a team setting as we tend to work together as a unit of moderators)
:bulletwhite: be active (I would prefer to bring people on who can dedicate time to the group at least 3 times a week if needed)
:bulletwhite: be comfortable explaining any discrepancies to members
:bulletwhite: be comfortable giving input on situations/ideas

If you feel that this is something you are interested in and have the time for, you can either note the group or note me directly at Astralseed.

:iconequine-artists-list:

Moderating Equine-Artists-List is pretty simple and straight forward.  We accept all images that have equines in them and any equine artist is welcome to join our group.  At this time we need some extra help promoting the group and getting word out about it's purpose.  We've been doing monthly roll call blogs to help promote our members and their art, but are on the look out for more ideas and ways to move the group forward.

Ideal candidates will:
:bulletpink: be able to write in English (for backroom discussions as well as potentially having to explain to a member why their piece was rejected)
:bulletpink: be familiar with the group platform (this is not a must but it does help)
:bulletpink: be a team player (you absolutely must be able to work well within a team setting as we tend to work together as a unit of moderators)
:bulletpink: be active (I would prefer to bring people on who can vote at least once a day)
:bulletpink: be comfortable telling someone why their piece was rejected (this is something that we can help with if you are unsure of the wording)
:bulletpink: be comfortable giving input on situations/ideas
:bulletpink: have time to work on ideas to move the group forward

Interested individuals may either note me directly at Astralseed or you may note Equine-Artists-List.

Just a question, what do you consider to be "realism"? Could I see some examples?
I'm pretty sure my stuff is stylised enough but you can never be too sure haha

We go by photo-realism so if it doesn't look like a photo, you're good :)
